For many years, photography has been my visual language — a practice built on a trained eye for color, light and composition. I return to oil painting not as a departure from photography, but as an expansion — a way to work with color and form in a new scale and depth than my lens.

Working in the tradition of abstract
expressionism, I build each painting through deliberate, rhythmic layering that generates
extraordinary depth, luminosity, and movement. My goal is to make a symphony of color...an explosion of drama through oil paint.

My heritage of the big West Texas skies and open flat land were my original inspirations. That same sense of awe of the world is now reflected from the deep cosmos illuminated through images from the Hubble and James Webb telescopes. New worlds of color and movement are there to explore!

"Who wants to know more about me, that is about the artist, the only one worth knowing, carefully look at my paintings to find who I am and what I want."
Gustav Klimt
